Ingredients

Pre-made pie crust dough or your own recipe
Mozzarella Cheese
Parmesan Cheese
Marinara Sauce
Mini Pepperonis (Optional)
Egg Wash (optional)

 

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.

2. Roll the dough out on the cutting board and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Make sure to cut out 2 of each shape for the front and back of the hand pie. 

*If the dough starts to get soft/warm, set it in the fridge for a few minutes before resuming. You can also place the cut out shapes in the fridge as you continue to work. 

3. Once you have your cut outs, take a spoon and place marinara sauce in the middle of one. Then add a sprinkle of cheese & pepperonis. Make sure to not over stuff as the next part can get messy!

4. Take the other cut out and place it over the first one with the stuffing. Gently press down on the sides until the stuffing is fully enclosed. You can also wet a brush or your finger with water and outline the cutout before pressing if the dough doesn't stick together. 

5. Grease a baking sheet and carefully place the hand pies on it. If you want a nice golden sheen on your pies, brush egg wash over the top of each one. 

*Easy egg wash = 1 egg + 1 teaspoon of water

6. Set in oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until crust is golden brown. 

7. Let them slightly cool & enjoy!
