|Ground Beef (or protein of choice)|
|Shredded Cheese (your choice)|
|Egg Wash (optional)|
|1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.|
|2. In frying pan, cook ground beef until done. Drain excess liquid out of pan. On low heat, mix in salt, pepper and taco seasoning. Set aside.|
|3. Use the cookie cutters to press down onto the tortilla to cut out shapes. Make sure to cut 2 of each shape for the front and back.|
4. Take one cut out and brush the side that will face inward with egg wash. Sprinkle some cheese over egg washed side, then carefully spoon ground beef over it, then top it off with another sprinkle of cheese. Take the second cut out and brush the side that will face down with egg wash and gently press.
(It should look like a mini filled quesadilla. The edges do not have to be sealed.)
5. Place the taco-dilla bites onto the baking sheet and bake in the oven for 5-10 minutes, or until the tortilla is crispy and cheese is melted.
6. Let cool until safe to handle but still warm. Enjoy with fresh salsa, hot sauce, guacamole or sour cream!
P.S. Egg wash helps to bind the filling to the tortilla cut outs, but the cheese also helps to do this, so feel free to omit the egg wash.
